Coming off a 48-40 win over Georgia Tech on Saturday, the Virginia Cavaliers will be riding a four-game win streak and bowl eligibility when they travel to Provo, Utah next week to take on the BYU Cougars. DraftKings’ opening lines has the Cougars—also bowl eligible—favored by 2.5 points.
Also at 6-2, BYU is coming off a 21-19 road win at Washington State last week. The Cougars are ranked No. 25 in this week’s AP rankings, while Virginia is receiving votes and knocking at the door at what would be No. 29. Both teams are also receiving votes in the Coaches Poll.
Virginia holds a 3-2 all-time advantage over BYU, losing the last meeting between the two teams in 2014. As you’ll hear ad nauseam this week, Bronco Mendenhall was then in his second-to-last year at BYU, handing the Hoos a 41-33 loss in the process.
