2021 Virginia Baseball Schedule Released

Virginia ranks #16 with a schedule featuring five ranked opponents

Virginia Media Relations

Last week, UVA released Virginia Baseball’s 50-game 2021 season. The season will feature one non-conference weekend series, eleven regional mid-week games, and twelve ACC weekend series. Due to COVID-19, most the Hoos’ opponents will be in-conference foes (twelve weekend series compared to the typical ten). They’ll face every ACC opponent except N.C. State and only have one mid-week game per week.

The Hoos’ come into the season ranked 16th in D1Baseball’s Top 25, although they rank as high as No. 5 in the Baseball America rankings. The ACC is loaded with seven of its teams in the rankings, five of which appear on Virginia’s schedule (Louisville (5), Georgia Tech (15), Wake Forest (17), Miami (21), and Florida State (24)).

The non-conference slate features as assortment of in-state and regional opponents. Most of the games will be played in Charlottesville with the exception of home-and home splits with Liberty, George Washington, and VCU.

We’re just ten days away from the first pitch of the 2021 campaign, hosting Connecticut at Disharoon Park on February 19th.
