Obviously the biggest concern first and foremost are for all of the players and everyone else’s safety who might be exposed or involved.
COVID has wrecked the sports world over the last year and now it has dampened UVA’s status in the ACC Tournament. Following Duke’s positive results earlier this week, the Blue Devils were also removed from the tournament and later announced that their season was over.
Virginia is clearly in a different situation than Duke as they were considered locks for next week’s NCAA Tournament whereas the Blue Devils remained on the bubble. It is unclear what UVA’s next move is given the timeline, but it is a distinct possibility that the Cavaliers’ 2020-21 season could be over.
