After being named a preseason All-American by multiple publications, UVA’s Andrew Abbott lived up to the hype this 2021 season and was rewarded on Monday being named First Team All-ACC.

The Senior lefty had a season to remember putting up a 7-5 record in 13 games to go with a 2.87 ERA and .217 batting average against. His 126 strikeouts in just 81.2 innings pitched vaulted him up the UVA record books to No. 2 all time in strikeouts.
Joining Abbott on the All-ACC Teams were Junior Zack Gelof and Freshman Kyle Teel who were named to the 2nd and 3rd team, respectively.
Gelof batted .294 on the season with 6 HR and 31 RBI while leading the team in hits with 59 and runs scored with 37. He also struck out just 27 times and stole 10 bases in 11 attempts. All this comes after being named a Preseason All-American entering the season and a 2nd team All-American after the 2020 season by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
Teel was the freshmen gift that kept on giving for UVA this season batting .311 and leading the team in home runs (7), slugging percentage (.497), and on-base percentage (.406). Teel was not only named 3rd team All-ACC DH, but was also named to the All-Freshman Team for the DH position.
UVA starts pool play in the ACC Tournament on Tuesday against Virginia Tech.
