After entering the season unranked, the Virginia Cavaliers men’s basketball team has made the AP Poll Top-25, coming in at #24 after a 4-0 start. UVA is the fourth ACC school in the poll alongside #9 Duke, #10 Miami, and #14 North Carolina. Texas A&M, UVA’s opponent on November 29th, sits at #12. Additionally, two other future Virginia opponents this season (Memphis and Clemson) received votes.
This season was actually the first year which Virginia wasn’t ranked in the preseason AP Poll since the 2017-2018 season. I won’t remind you how that season ended, but the ‘Hoos did end the regular season as the clear #1 team in the AP Poll. Following the Cavaliers’ solid start to this season, they’ll look to keep the momentum going against Wisconsin tonight at 6:00 PM. To get set for the matchup, check out our game preview here!
