With Virginia Cavaliers quarterback Tony Muskett dressed in street clothes today, true freshman Anthony Colandrea is officially the guy for the ‘Hoos in this afternoon’s Commonwealth Clash against the Virginia Tech Hokies. Muskett’s status was slightly up in the air after he suffered an ankle injury against Georgia Tech three weeks ago.

Now though, after leading UVA to a huge win against Duke last Saturday, Colandrea has the opportunity to etch his name into the history books. As everyone who reads this story will be well aware, the Cavaliers have only beaten the Hokies twice this century with the 2019 victory being the first since 2003.

Colandrea has had an up and down true freshman season in his six starts and seven appearances. He’s thrown for 1,715 yards, 11 touchdowns, and thrown eight interceptions on a 62.5% completion percentage. He’s also rushed for 237 net yards.
