For the eighth time in nine years, the Clemson Tigers are favored to win the ACC football title, according to the ACC media’s preseason poll. The Virginia Cavaliers, coming off a 3-7 (1-6) season, were picked to finish last.

This is the first year that the ACC has done away with the Atlantic and Coastal divisions, introducing a new scheduling model that will ensure that every team will face every other conference opponent at least twice during each four-year cycle (one home, one away). Instead of the division champions playing each other, the top two teams based on conference winning percentage will move on to the ACC Championship Game.

Of the 176 voting members of the media, 103 of them picked Clemson to win the title. Clemson won the title last year, finishing 11-3 overall, with a perfect 8-0 conference record.
