London Perrantes 6'2" 189lbs Guard Freshman
London Perrantes comes to UVA from Crespi Carmelite in Los Angeles, California. Perrantes was one of UVA's two guard commitments, choosing to come across the country and play his college ball in the ACC with Devon Hall. A four year letter-winner for Crespi Carmelite, Perrantes finished his career the schools all time leader in scoring and assists. Uber productive as a player London averaged 19.9 points and 5.8 assists per game as a senior. A laundry list of awards included CIF Southern Section Division IV Player of the Year, LA Times First Team All Area, LA Daily News Player of the Year, Mission League Player of the Year, John Wooden Award Winner and a McDonald's All American Game nominee (I could list these accolades for the next hour, but you get the point). Perrantes held offers from Arizona State, Illinois and San Francisco before choosing the HOOS.
One theme that seems to be consistent among all new HOOS is Bennett and company's focus on recruiting leadership. London Perrantes served as a team captain for three years in high school and was the unquestioned heart and soul of his team. UVA originally backed off on the recruitment of Perrantes after Devon Hall's commitment but due to his fit in this scheme they got re-involved. A gritty defender who is very productive on the offensive end, Perrantes has a bright future in Charlottesville. London will share the back-court with fellow signee Devon Hall. The two of them together could provide quite the 1-2 punch, as they can play the one and two on offense and switch on defense. London is a great ball handler who is capable of creating his own shot.
Side note: He played Quarterback as a Freshman. I'm always inquiring if anyone can help the other program on campus.
