Maleek Frazier earned a spot on the squad after spending two years as a team manager. Frazier when to high school at the nearby Covenant School in Charlottesville, where he played point guard and was also on the baseball team. He decided to stay close to home at Virginia, earned a spot as manager, and, two years later, has worked for a spot on the roster
He is one of four walk-ons for this season's Cavalier team, not including Thomas Rogers, who has now earned a scholarship. (The others are Caid Kirven, Rob Vozenilek, and Jeff Jones Jr.)
