The Cavaliers check in at No. 9 in the 2014-15 AP Preseason Top 25. The Hoos are the fourth-highest ACC team, behind No. 4 Duke, No. 6 North Carolina and No. 8 Louisville. Kentucky tops the chart, while Arizona, Wisconsin and Kansas round out the top five.

The only other ACC team to hit the Preseason Top 25 is Syracuse, who comes in at No. 23.

The other Virginia opponents checking in are No. 15 VCU, which the Hoos face on the road this year, and No. 25 Harvard, which visits Virginia.

Pitt, NC State, George Washington, Notre Dame, Maryland and FSU, all of whom face Virginia this year, are also receiving votes.

College basketball season is right around the corner!
