Virginia is ranked 17th in the nation in the AP Poll released today, moving up from 20th last week. The coaches have UVA at 16th, a change from last week's #21 ranking. These rankings are UVA's highest since the team hit 15th in the AP poll on January 16th, 2012, when Mike Scott still roamed the court.

The AP top 5 remained unchanged as Syracuse, Arizona, Florida, Wichita State, and San Diego State all held serve. In addition to UVA at 17th and Syracuse at 1st, ACC brethren Duke (#9) and Pitt (#25) own spots in the top 25. Two UVA out-of-conference opponents are now ranked, as Wisconsin and SMU picked up big wins to enter at 21 and 23, respectively.

Computers continue to be even more bullish on Virginia, but the polls are beginning to converge toward them.

KenPom: #7 (was as high as #5 after Saturday's win. KenPom projects a 16-2 ACC finish).

Sagarin: #14

LRMC: 16

BPI: 18

RPI: 20

While we are discussing rankings, it's about that time to start thinking about NCAA seeding. The Bracket Project, which aggregates a large number of attempts at March Madness bracket predictions, has UVA as a 4 seed right now. It tends to lag (since some of the aggregated brackets are not right up to date), but is generally a very accurate crowd-sourced look at where we would expect to be if the tournament began today.

The full AP Top 25 is as follows. You can also head to the AP website for a full voter-by-voter look:
