Virginia head coach Tony Bennett announced today that 6'6", 200-pound guard Marial Shayok has signed a financial aid agreement with UVA, and will be joining the Hoos for the 2014-2015 season. Shayok had given a verbal commitment two weeks ago after decommitting from Marquette following their coaching change.
"We are fortunate to add Marial to this year's recruiting class," said Bennett in a released statement. "Marial is a versatile, team player who is skilled and athletic. We believe he will be a great addition to our program."
The New Jersey Prep Player of the Year led Blair Academy to the Prep A State Championship and was named all-state and all-conference after averaging 15.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists.
Shayok was named a three-star recruit by each of 247 Sports, Rivals, and ESPN. He joins an incoming class of guard Bryant Stith, center Jack Salt and forward Isaiah Wilkins.
