After four games into the season, the Virginia Cavaliers have struggled statistically on both sides of the ball. Despite showing flashes of offense, especially from the passing game, UVA is currently ranked 106th in offensive yards per game and 101st in offensive points per game. It is even worse when you look at the defensive rankings as the Hoos are 109th in yards and 115th in points. What other power-5 conference programs share our misery?
Only Maryland and Texas are also ranked 100th or worse in offensive and defensive yards per game, and only Kansas joins UVA in offensive and defensive points. (Three non power-5 schools are in the yardage list and ten are in the points list. Miami of Ohio and Hawaii are in both as well.)
Therefore, Virginia is the only team in a power conference to be ranked 100th or worse in offensive yards and points and defensive yards and points per game, and only one of three in the entire country.
Yikes.
