2015 NFL Draft: No First-Round Pick for Eli Harold

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

As some experts predicted, Eli Harold was was not selected in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. The junior DE/OLB will have to wait until tomorrow to hear his name called in Chicago.

It must be a disappointing night for Harold, who had over 100 people at his Draft watch party, but perhaps not entirely unexpected, as Harold told The Daily Progress's Andrew Ramspacher that he had been hearing more of the second round than the first.

Virginia has not had a first round pick since Eugene Monroe was selected No. 8 overall in 2009. Since then, the Hoos have had three second-round selections in Clint Sintim that same year (No. 45 overall to the New York Giants), Chris Cook in 2010 (No. 34 overall to the Minnesota Vikings) and Ras-I Dowling in 2011 (No. 33 overall to the New England Patriots).

Stay tuned on Friday as we keep an ear out for Harold's name to be announced.
