The ACC Beat More Cupcakes in Week 2 while Conference Play Began

While Virginia lost a heartbreaker to Notre Dame, most of its conference mates beat cupcake teams, while the conference's first game featured Syracuse beating Wake Forest in the "Battle to not be Last."

Everything played out just about as you'd expect this week except OH MY GOD LOUISVILLE WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?

FAU 20 - Miami 44

Miami looked rough in the first half of their Friday night win, but pulled away in the second half. Freshman running back Mark Walton had three TDs on the day.

Pitt 24 - Akron 7

For some reason, Pitt played AT Akron. Tyler Boyd has 95 receiving yards and freshman running back Qadree Ollison rush for 81 yards and a TD in his first game filling in for the injured James Connor.

EKU 0 - NC State 35

The Wolfpack, who apparently wear black uniforms now (?), put a hurting on Eastern Kentucky. Matthew Dayes continued his high-scoring start to the season with 3 TDs and 116 rushing yards.

NC A&T 14 - UNC 53

Carolina took out their week 1 frustration on the overmatched Aggies. Elijah Hood rushed for a couple scores while Marquise Williams threw for a couple as well - and no interceptions.

NC Central 0 - Duke 55

Yet another tobacco road team beating up on a cupcake opponent. Duke continued their high scoring start to the season behind 3 TDs for Thomas Sirk.

Furman 3 - VT 42

Brenden Motley accounted for 3 TDs in his first start of the season for the Hokies, who beat up on Furman, but clearly lost the mascot/nickname contest to the Paladins.

Tulane 10 - GT 65

The Green Wave lost to an ACC opponent for a second straight week as Georgia Tech demolished them behind 9 total touchdowns. Maybe UVa should schedule Tulane sometime.

Howard 0 - BC 76

76 points?! Good lord. Boston College had 41 first quarter points. That's incredible, assuming Howard fielded a team and didn't run "Punt Block" every play on defense.

ASU 10 - Clemson 41

Appy State was not hot hot hot in their loss to Clemson. Deshaun Watson had another great game, throwing for 248 yards and 3 TDs.

Wake 17 - Cuse 30

In the first ACC match up of the year, the Orange came back from a halftime deficit to win at home. Freshman QB Eric Dungey threw for 2 scores, including an 89 yard TD pass in the 3rd quarter

Houston 34 - Louisville 31

The most surprising result for the conference was Louisville dropping this game at home to Houston. While Petrino's team should be commended for scheduling a tough OOC slate, much like UVa, doing such has left them with a 0-2 record to start the season.

USF 14 - FSU 34

Dalvin Cook ran for a ridiculous 266 yards and 3 TDs in the Noles' win over the Bulls. Everett Golson was less impressive, completing only 14 of his 26 passes.
