ACC announces early Virginia football season kickoff times and TV schedule

Unfortunately, the ACC only controls one of Virginia's first three games of the season.

The ACC released the game times and TV schedule for the first three weeks of the season. Unfortunately for Virginia fans, the conference only controls one of the Cavaliers' first three games. Virginia and Richmond will open their season in Charlottesville on September 3 at 3:30 p.m., and the game will be on ESPN3.

The other two games -- Virginia at Oregon on September 10 and Virginia at UCONN on September 17 -- are controlled by the PAC-12 and American Athletic Conference, respectively. Those kickoff times and TV schedule have not yet been released.

Richmond has served as the season home opener for each of Virginia's last three coaches -- Al Groh, Mike London, and now Bronco Mendenhall. The Hoos won the first two, 17-16 and 34-13, respectively.

The remainder of the games will be announced closer to the games, typically 12 days in advance unless the television partner exercises its 6-day option.
