The over/under on Virginia's total wins for the 2016 regular season was set at 4.5 by South Point Race and Sports Book in Las Vegas.
(The line on the "over" was set at -130, while the "under" at +110; this means a $130 bet on the over would return $100, and a winning $100 bet on the under would result in a $110 win. Thus, the oddsmakers believe that the Cavaliers are somewhat more likely to finish with 5 or more wins than 4 or fewer.)
Clemson and Boise State were pegged with the highest expected win total at 10.5 wins.
Virginia's over/under is influenced by another difficult schedule, which features out-of-conference road games at Oregon and UConn. If the Hoos split their out-of-conference slate (which also includes home games against Richmond and Central Michigan), they'll need to go 3-5 in ACC play to exceed 4.5 wins (or 4-4 to get the 6 wins needed for bowl eligibility). Adding a road win at UConn would make reaching 5 or 6 wins substantially more attainable.
Here are where the over/unders are set at around the ACC. Florida State follows Clemson at 9.5 wins. Only Syracuse, with 4 expected wins, trails UVA.
