The Virginia Cavaliers had a great game last week against Central Michigan. You’ve been reading that everywhere -- probably because it’s the first time you’ve been able to read post-win coverage this season. But it wasn’t just a great game for Virginia. It was a great game, period. And other media are acknowledging that.
We already know that Kurt Benkert received an ESPN helmet sticker for his record-setting performance. Today, Steve Palazzolo of Pro Football Focus recognized Zach Bradshaw for his performance last Saturday by naming him to his National Team of the Week.
“Bradshaw did damage all over the field as he picked up a sack and a hurry as a pass rusher and added a pass defensed in coverage,” Palazzolo wrote.
Bradshaw finished the afternoon with nine tackles -- six solo and three assisted — including one sack. He was also credit for two pass breakups.
Virginia’s Andrew Brown and Donte Wilkins joins Bradshaw on John Breitenbach’s ACC Team of the Week. Brown had two tackles as well, including the same sack that Bradshaw was credited. Wilson was credited with three assisted tackles and one solo.
Here’s hoping that we can continue singing praises for this young and growing defense next week after the matchup against Duke during their homecoming.
