Now that football season is over, it’s time to start filling our time with petty arguments over who deserves to be the number one pick, who can bench press 225-pounds the most times and which quarterback can “make all the throws” the best. All of these arguments will be fueled by the performances put on at the NFL Scouting Combine taking place in Indianapolis, Indiana at Lucas Oil Stadium from February 27th to March 5th.
This year the combine will feature 326 of the best college football players in the country and four of those will be former Virginia standouts.
Kurt Benkert, Micah Kiser, Quin Blanding and Andrew Brown all received invitations to the biggest NFL scouting event of the year to showcase their skills and prove they have what it takes to selected in this years draft.
Currently, according to CBS’s draft rankings, Quin Blanding (70th overall, 2nd FS), Andrew Brown (102nd overall, 12th DE) and Micah Kiser (128th overall, 7th ILB) are all projected to be drafted. Benkert has the most to gain at the combine as he is floating between the 9th-12th ranked quarterback depending on where you look.
The combine will be televised on the NFL Network from March 2nd-5th and features different positional groupings each day. Tune in to see how the Cavalier alumni stack up against the rest of this year’s draft class.
