College Football Vegas Odds: Virginia is an 8-point underdog at NC State

Virginia is just one of three Power 5 teams to be a perfect 4-0 against the spread.

NCAA Football: Louisville at Virginia Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The Virginia Cavaliers continue to dazzle and impress as their 27-3 win over the Louisville Cardinals earned them three votes in the latest Coaches Poll and an ESPN Top 10 recognition for quarterback Bryce Perkins. Virginia was favored by 4.5 points in that contest, and blew that out of the water, winning by 24.

Virginia, Texas A&M, and Washington State are the only three Power 5 schools that are a perfect 4-0 against the spread so far this season. West Virginia is a perfect 3-0 and ACC brethren Syracuse hasn’t lost you any money, at 3-0-1.

Here’s Virginia’s record against the spread so far this season:

Virginia has won each game in which it’s been favored so far this season, and has lost the one game in which it was an underdog.

Heading into Week 5 on the road against the N.C. State Wolfpack, the Hoos are an 8-point underdog. State is 2-1 against the spread (the Wolfpack’s game against West Virginia was postponed due to Hurricane Florence, though it has not yet been rescheduled), covering against Georgia State and Marshall, and failing to cover 15 points against JMU, beating them only by 11.

Including this week, NC State has been favored in every game so far. Kickoff is scheduled at 12:20 p.m. ET on Saturday, September 29 in Raleigh, NC. The game will be televised on Raycom Sports.
