Virginia's Justin Anderson makes Wooden Award Midseason Top 25

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Justin Anderson is one of 25 players on the Wooden Award's Midseason Watch List released today.

Anderson is in the midst of a monster year.  Most notably, he's improved his three-point shooting from 29% last season to 56% so far this year.  He's also made 51% of his 2s, which places him 20th in the nation in eFG%.  Overall, he averages 14.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for the slow-paced Cavaliers.

He also does fun dunks like this all the time:

With an offensive rating of 130 and a usage of 23%, Anderson is  on Ken Pomeroy's "kPOY" top-ten list.  In fact, most of UVA's starters are. (Here's a link - subscription only, but Gill, Anderson, Brogdon, and Tobey are all among the nation's best ten players).

The Wooden Award finalists will be released at the end of the regular season, with the award winner announced before the Final Four is played.
