NC State gave No. 2 Virginia just about all they could handle in the Hoos' first game without Justin Anderson. Virginia escaped 51-47, extending their nine-game road win streak, the longest in the country.
By the way, for those of you playing along at home, this is the tenth time this season that the Hoos have held an opponent to under 50, including five of the last eight games. Not too shabby of a job, Hoos.
Incredibly, that's five ACC teams held under 50. Five, out of the 11 ACC teams Virginia's played so far, have been unable to score 50 points on Virginia. Two others were only able to get to 51. That's unbelievable no matter how you slice it, and in fact, is a better percentage than in Virginia's out of conference schedule (5 of 11 rather than 5 of 12).
