The Virginia Cavaliers will be traveling to Norfolk, Va. this week to take on Old Dominion on the first round of the 64-team Women's NIT, it was announced late Monday night. The Hoos earned one of 32 automatic bids.

This is familiar territory for Virginia head coach Joanne Boyle, who, while at California, coached her team to a WNIT championship in 2010. For Virginia, this is their fifth time in the WNIT, reaching as far as the quarterfinals in 2006, 2007, 2011 and 2012.
The Hoos will tip off this Thursday in Norfolk. Should they advance, Virginia will face the winner of Villanova and Maine in the second round, some time between March 21-24. Exact dates, times, and locations will be announced as the tournament progresses.
