The ACC has released the pairings for this year's ACC-Big Ten Challenge, and the Virginia Cavaliers will host the Ohio State Buckeyes. The game will take place in Charlottesville on Wednesday, November 30th; time and TV information will be released in August.
The game is a rematch of last year, when Virginia travelled to Columbus and left with a hard-fought 64-58 win over a young but feisty Buckeyes squad. UVA is 2-3 against Ohio State all-time.
Ohio State is coming off a 21-14 (11-7 Big Ten) season in which it overcame a slow out-of-conference start to finish with a strong conference record and qualify for an NIT bid. They finished the year ranked 80th in the nation on KenPom, but next season looks promising for the team with all five starters returning.
Virginia is the only ACC team ranked in Eamonn Brennan's "too-early Top 25 Rankings" that will face an unranked opponent. The Challenge is highlighted by Michigan State's game at Duke, along with UNC playing at Indiana, Purdue at Louisville, and Syracuse at Wisconsin. Boston College, who finished last in the ACC last season, will not participate.
After winning the first 10 Challenges, the ACC hasn't taken one since 2008. Since then, there have been two ties and five Big Ten victories, including last year's 8-6 win. However, UVA has won 5 of its last 6 ACC - Big Ten Challenge matchups.
Here's a full look at this season's ACC - Big Ten Challenge schedule. We'll update with the times, and TV info when they become available:
