ACC basketball media days have come and gone — the local media have spoken, and your Virginia Cavaliers have been picked to finish sixth in the conference. Duke, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Miami sit atop the standings, each receiving at least one first-place vote.
With concerns over how London Perrantes will be replaced at point guard and where this year’s offense will come from, Virginia falls outside the preseason Top 4 for the first time since the 2012-2013 season, when they were tabbed seventh. The Hoos would go on to finish fourth that season, losing in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in an unspeakable game against Florida.
Virginia had no representatives on either the first or second Preseason All-ACC teams, and one lone voter had De’Andre Hunter for Preseason Rookie of the Year.
