Virginia Tech got off to a blazing start, ranked as high as 21 in the AP poll after going 12-1 with a win over then-No. 5 Duke. Since then, ACC play has not been so kind for the Hokies, who have lost three of their last four, which includes losses to No, 9 UNC and No 9 UVA.

Still, and despite Virginia’s complete dominance of the first matchup between the teams, Virginia Tech has gone 4-1 in ACC play at Cassell Coliseum, and last year upset the Hoos, 70-68, in Blacksburg.
