The Virginia Cavaliers will open the 2018 Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis against Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders on Wednesday, November 21 as the last game of the night, the tournament announced on Tuesday. The winner will take on the winner of the Butler Bulldogs and the Dayton Flyers.
On the other side of the bracket, the Florida Gators and Oklahoma Sooners square off, and they’re paired with the Wisconsin Badgers and Stanford Cardinal.
Virginia is 1-0 all time against Middle Tennessee, winning the only matchup 104-88 in the second round of the 1989 NCAA Tournament. Virginia is 2-0 all time against Dayton (Both coming in 1987, once in the ‘86-’87 season and once in the ‘87-’88 season) and 1-0 all time against Butler (2016).
The tournament spans three days over Thanksgiving. Tipoff for Virginia and Middle Tennessee State is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET and will be shown on ESPN2. The championship game is scheduled for Friday, November 23 at 2:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
