The Virginia Cavaliers opened up the 2019-2020 campaign with a 48-34 “defensive battle” win over the Syracuse Orange. It wasn’t as pretty as anyone hoped—one might even say it was a downright ugly game. But for the defending national champions to open on the road against an ACC foe, coming home with a win is the only thing that matters. Holding the Orange to just 34 measly points, including just two (2!!) in the first 10 minutes, triggers the first Pack Line Pledge payment and and extra $16 donation to those who pledged the extra credit bonus.
