Happy Independence Day, America! The Virginia Cavaliers football staff is probably somewhere celebrating their 18th commitment in the Class of 2016, in outside linebacker Matt Terrell.
Not a better day than today to welcome our newest member of the @UVa_Football family. #HoosNext #4thJulyCelebrations

The 6'4", 225 lbs. defensive end from Lynchburg, Va. held offers from James Madison, Liberty, Elon and Richmond. He was not rated by either Rivals or 247.
Terrell originally received his offer just two weeks ago, following Virginia's one-day football camp on Saturday, June 20. He led the Liberty Christian Academy Bulldogs in tackling in 2014 and was named their defensive player of the year.
Watch his special teams work starting at the 0:46 mark in his highlights video below -- it's a fun one, and hopefully indicative of some yet-to-be-unleashed athleticism that could help Virginia.
Terrell is the Cavaliers' fourth commitment this week alone.
