The men’s basketball team isn’t the only Virginia Cavaliers program generating news this week: UVA football reeled in the third member of the class of 2020 with a commitment from Louisiana’s Bud Clark.

Clark—listed in some recruiting services as Ja’Darius Clark—stands 6-foot-1, 170 pounds, and hails from Alexandria, Louisiana (smack in the middle of the state, about halfway between Shreveport and Baton Rouge). He has offers from LSU, Ole Miss, TCU, Arizona State, and Kansas in addition to UVA. 247 Sports has him pegged as a four-star in the 247 Composite, while Rivals rates him a high three-star.
He stands out for the height and length that UVA likes in its corners. (Wearing Juan Thornhill’s #21 isn’t too bad a look, either.) Clark is also a solid striker and covers a lot of ground quickly to deliver punishment. He’s dynamic with the ball in his hands, looking to make big plays after turnovers. Clark will join a crowded and deep defensive backfield in Charlottesville, but should push the guys in front of him for playing time once he arrives.
This follows up on a strong 2019 for UVA in Louisiana, when the Hoos snagged two of the state’s top 30 prospects: wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks and running back Mike Hollins.
